About us
about us:
Following Jesus is all about relationships. We're serious about taking steps to strengthen our relationship with Christ, serving others, and sharing hope with all people. We believe that the body of Christ is more significant than the four walls of our local church.
Through teaching straight from God's Word, energetic worship, meaningful friendships, and loving others, our mission is to declare the glory of God through the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. We're committed to taking the cross's faith, hope and redemption to every community, city, and the world beyond.
Mission Statement
The principal purpose of House of Faith Ministries is to glorify God, who created all things for His glory and honour. We are to glorify God the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ, whom he has appointed heir of all things. When a believer receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, they become a new creation in Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). From beginning to end, the Christian life is one where the believer is "being transformed" into Christ's image with ever-increasing glory (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Being Christ-like is the ultimate goal of every Christian. Apostle John says,
"we shall be like Him [even in this world], for one day we shall see Him as He is" (1 John 3:2 and1 John 4:17).
The more the believer seeks to imitate Christ in their day-to-day life, the more triumphant that person becomes solidified in handling the tests, trials, temptations and troubles in this world. Christ-likeness manifests by a life of faith, fruit-bearing, character, service, loving God and others, forgiving and witnessing the gospel to others.
At House of Faith, we seek to edify the body of Christ by building Christ-like Lives, Public worship, Bible classes, Christian Education, Discipleship in small groups and various ministries for young and old, married and single to Christian maturity. The victorious Christian life is a spirit-filled and spirit-guided life of worship, praise, prayer, overcoming and service.
The Christ-like believer has a new thought life that continuously seeks to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord (2Peter 3:18). Also, the Christlike believer understands that the power of life and death resides in the tongue and that no corrupt communication should proceed from the mouth (Colossians 3: 8-10; Proverbs 18:21).
We believe Christianity manifests by a commitment to serving in one's local church; visiting and praying for the sick and bereaved; providing financial and moral support to the poor; bringing the gospel to those incarcerated, and helping to mend those adversely affected by broken relationships and misdirected lives. We seek to speak life and positive affirmations to build up our families, communities and society, all needing spiritual guidance.
We thank God for the victory that He assures in Christ Jesus, who always causes us to triumph.
Our Statement of Faith
We believe that only one God has created all things for His glory and honour. This one God has manifested Himself to humanity as the Father in creation, the Son in redemption, and the Holy Spirit indwelling and inspiring those who place their trust in Him.
We believe that God is love and that sacrificial love was shown to fallen humanity when the Father gave the Son to redeem all who believe in the Son.
We believe that Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless human life, willingly took upon Himself all of our sins, died and rose again bodily, and is at the right hand of the Father as our advocate and mediator. Someday, He will return to consummate history and fulfill God's eternal plan.
We believe that apart from Jesus Christ, all people are spiritually lost and, because of sin, deserve the judgment of God. However, God gives salvation and eternal life to anyone who trusts in the priceless sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we cannot earn salvation through personal goodness or human effort; instead, it is a gift that everyone must receive through humble repentance and faith in Christ and His finished work on the cross.
We believe in water baptism as a public profession of a person's faith in Christ.
According to scripture, baptism includes complete immersion administered in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe that one must be born again spiritually to see and enter the Kingdom of God.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is essential to salvation, convicts the world of sin, and draws people to Christ.
We believe that the Bible is God's unique and written revelation to people. It is God's inspired, infallible Word and the supreme and final authority on all matters upon which it teaches. No other writings are vested with such divine authority.
We believe the Bible teaches that there is a place called Heaven and Hell. The believer goes to Heaven, and the sinner eternally to Hell.
Vision:
House of Faith is a church dedicated to raising people of faith and integrity, filled with the power of the Holy Spirit to impact the people of Lambeth, London and all the world nations with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. We want to see the blessing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our streets, homes, schools and workplaces.
our pastor
Peter Owatemi
Lead Pastor/Apostle
Our lead pastor has a heart for people, and he cares about how people feel and is a non-judgemental and supportive ear at the end of the phone. He is passionate about God and what he can do and supports Pastors and Churches locally and internationally to work together in building God's kingdom.
He is a trained Counsellor (BA) and has a background in Business Administration (PG), Project management and Theology at Spurgeon College. He has worked with and continues to partner with churches of all denominations, including the Apostolic, Baptist, Methodist, Catholic and Pentecostal, to name a few. He acknowledges that whilst there may be differences when called to preach at these churches or offer support, he bases his faith on the Word of God first, thus removing the division of doctrine. He often quotes "Sola Scriptura" (meaning by scripture alone in English), a theological doctrine that the Christian scriptures are the sole infallible source of authority for God, Christian faith, and practice.
He is a Supportive husband to his wife, Sabrina, a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and a loving Father to their three lovely children.
Feel free to partner with him in the ministry by using the donate on the donate page. God bless you.
